The Team Falcons competed in only their second LAN competition, BetBoom Dacha Dubai 2024. The lineup was assembled at the end of 2023, and with a maiden LAN appearance in Malaysia that resulted in a top-6 finish, the MENA representatives embarked on a genuinely dominant journey.In January of current year, the Falcons won three regional tournament qualifiers. BetBoom Dacha Dubai 2024 was only their first pit stop. One in which they advanced to the grand finals via upper bracket series before defeating Team Liquid 3:0 to win the trophy and the $400,000 lion’s share of the one million dollar prize pool.
After seeing Team Liquid make a full lower bracket run to reach the grand finals, Falcons came prepared with fast-paced strategies centred on a Gyrocopter carry and Ammar “ATF” Al-Assaf’s main hero, Mars. At the same time, Liquid was determined to change the tides with a Tidehunter.
They used an Enigma in game one, but lost despite having a substantial gold lead in the laning stage. Moving on, Liquid traded Enigma for Tide and had a pretty back-and-forth game two, but a few missteps, such as forgetting a Refresher Shard in the Roshan pit and advancing to high ground without it, resulted in a devastating outcome.
While Liquid insisted on the Tide selection, the Falcons used a Gyrocopter in all three games of the series, which earned them their first trophy of the year.
