According to some under-the-radar claims emerging from the Unreal Fest in Shanghai, the highly anticipated Genshin Impact-esque gacha game Wuthering Waves will be available on PS5 and PS4. The title, which will soon undergo a second closed beta test, has been secretly relaunched behind the scenes in response to fan feedback, with about 90% of the release’s mythology apparently altered since its initial beta.
According to a translation of Hong Kong developer Kuro’s presentation, the PS5 version of the game will be comparable to the PC edition operating at Ultra graphical settings. Meanwhile, the PS4 version’s visuals will be a tier or so above the finest possible mobile presentation. Scalability over multiple hardware tiers is a key component of the project.
The game does not yet have a release date, but it appears to be quite similar to Genshin Impact, with the HoYoverse’s success inspiring the creation of other copycats. It will be intriguing to see if it can match the success of the established fantasy role-playing game, but based on the excitement we’ve seen in Asia, it has a good chance of capturing a few gamers.
