With the year 2024 rapidly approaching, Innersloth has revealed that Among Us users who check in by January 31, 2024 can claim a free hat to commemorate the occasion. The New Year’s 2024 hat giveaway closed off a successful year for Among Us, which celebrated five years of service and collaborated with a variety of IPs.
2023 was another pivotal year for Among Us, concluding in a surprise crossover. Vampire Survivors released the Emergency Meeting DLC in December 2023, which is a crossover expansion with Among Us. Players in Vampire Survivors can traverse a duplicate of the volcanic Polus area from Among Us, and take on numerous alien monstrosities while gaining new weaponry. At the time of writing, the third Vampire Survivors addition was only available on PC, Xbox, and mobile platforms, with the Switch version receiving the expansion later.
Players in the United States who want to ring in the New Year in style will have a method to do so. Simply login into Among Us on any platform before January 31, 2024 will add the New Year’s 2024 hat to their inventories at no further cost. A silver top hat with a golden ribbon and a star on the side serves as the New Year’s hat. While the festive top hat cannot be recolored, it can be paired with the many face masks and costumes available to players, including those found in the Indie Cosmicube until February 28, 2024. The Indie Cosmicube included things from indie games such as Celeste, Undertale, and A Hat in Time.

Throughout 2023, Innersloth generally stuck to its Among Us roadmap. While purposely ambiguous, the Among Us roadmap laid down the groundwork for the release of The Fungle map, a cooperation with Pusheen, changes to the user interface, and multiple Cosmicube songs that let players to acquire extra cosmetics to flaunt. While Innersloth’s 2024 ambitions are unknown, the fact that Among Us is still receiving upgrades five years after its modest launch attests to its ongoing appeal.
With the release of The Fungle map and continuous collaborations with Vampire Survivors and other indie hits, 2023 will be a difficult year to top. Only time will tell what the year 2024 has in store for both Innersloth and Among Us players.
