One of the first few matches in the final Tier 1 CS2 event of the year was between Vitality and NAVI. Vitality vs NAVI
While anticipation for this series to be more competitive were high, this was not the case. The series was absolutely dominated by NAVI, and the 2-0 result does not do it justice.
Anubis
NAVI won the pistol and the next two rounds, but Vitality appeared to put a stop to that. The Vitality players appeared incredibly comfortable with their planning and strategies once they had guns in their hands.
After NAVI took a 4-1 lead, Vitality won six of the last seven rounds in the first half thanks to excellent all-around efforts from the whole squad. It was all but a formality for Vitality to close it out after winning the first five rounds on the CT side.
The Vitality squad delivered a well-rounded performance, with no single player sticking out. We’ve witnessed contests where one player (whose name finishes in O) towers over the others. However, the Vitality team’s frag distribution versus NAVI was nearly identical, indicating the power of their cooperation and strategy.
And when the player with the fewest frags on the team pulls off daring defuses like the one above, it’s difficult to lose. Vitality defeated NAVI’s pick of Anubis 13-8.
Overpass
After a confident victory over Anubis, Vitality increased their attack on Overpass. In the first half, the squad jumped out to a 9-3 advantage.NAVI had a new lease on life in the second half as they won the first three rounds. It gave NAVI admirers optimism as they hoped for NAVI to make a comeback. Unfortunately for their fans, it was a similar narrative, as Vitality was the dominant team with guns in their hands.
