Dota is back on the menu, boys, and it’s returning to Kuala Lumpur.
ESL One KL, which takes place from December 11 to 17, features 12 of the world’s finest teams following a grueling series of qualifications. Three of the top four teams will also be present at The International 2023, albeit there will be significant personnel changes.

What exactly is ESL One Kuala Lumpur?
ESL One Kuala Lumpur is the official second event of the ESL Pro Tour 2024, as well as the first big LAN event following The International 2023.
With a US$1 million prize pool and EPT points — a sort of replacement for the now-defunct Dota Pro Circuit — 12 of the world’s finest teams are competing for direct invites to ESL’s new events, as well as a potential showdown tournament in July.

ESL One KL format
In the group stage, 12 teams are divided into two single round-robin groups. Each series consists of two games.
The top two teams progress to the playoffs’ upper bracket, while the lowest two are eliminated. The final two teams are seeded in the bottom bracket.
The playoffs are a two-round format. Except for the best-of-five grand final, all matches will be best-of-three.
